Primarily producing in small regional environments, I can boast that I have assisted to sell-out at least one performance of every one of my plays.
My first job out of my undergrad was to run the Operations Department of the Button Factory Arts Centre. For the brief duration of my contract, I facilitated all venue-related needs, managed cashflow including point of sale and salary distribution, and functioned as a front face of the Arts Centre to all patrons and visiting staff.
In the first two years since inception, my co-leadership of the Informal Upright Theatre Collective facilitated roughly $10,000 of (mostly public) funding, producing a company launch event, a world premiere of a full theatrical production, multiple ticketed staged readings, and a multi-day artist development workshop, all spanning between two separate cities.
After helping both the Informal Upright Collective and the Whiskey Ginger Collective to develop their Company Charters, I have advised multiple younger companies and collectives on their early steps towards administration.
While producing the world premiere of my play, TOUCH, at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, I daylighted as the Event Supervisor on Edinburgh's busy Royal Mile. I time-kept, staged-managed, and facilitated all busker and performance events on the Royal Mile, supervising a staff of over 20 Street Stewards. Together we handled safety and security, crowd management, sound equipment, and cleanliness on the street while it was as busy as 2000 pedestrians per hour.
My cohort of graduate Writing students at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama spearheaded what became a regularly-occurring New Writing Night to showcase original work of the students of the program. For the inaugural event, I assisted running sound, publicity, industry invitations, and handled all equity contracts for the performances.
Other Stage Management Experience includes summer tours of the fringe-hit Myra's Story, over two years.
Other Arts Admin experience includes Front of House Management for the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony Orchestra, Social Media Management for InterArts Matrix, and running and maintaining a local writer's group. Presently, I supplement my income as the Studio Manager of KW Headshots by Hannah Marie.
